There is now the opportunity to receive a full Hotmaps training online!

The Hotmaps team has developed an online training concept available in English and German. Based on the outcomes of the previous trainings and the feedbacks received, they improved their training concept. Thanks to this online training, you will be able to learn about heating and cooling planning with the Hotmaps toolbox from your home offices, but you will still have access to live support from the Hotmaps team.

This Hotmaps toolbox provides default data for EU28 as well as calculations modules to design long-term planning strategies. It allows you to map and analyse heat demand and low carbon heat sources very quickly. The tool is open-source, user-driven and has been developed by research institutions in close collaboration with 7 cities.

The training in English will take place between 27th April and 12th May. It will have the following structure:

  • Mon 27th April, 10:00 – 11:00: a preparatory webinar to explain the training programme and the guiding materials,
  • Mon 4th May – Mon 11th May: intensive training days. Participants will perform the Hotmaps 5 step process for generating scenarios of future heating and cooling for a selected region. It requires around 1-2h per step. The Hotmaps team will provide explanation sessions and support sessions to answer particpants’ questions.
  • Tue 12th May, 15:00 – 16:30: Wrap up session and final remarks.
