Webinar “Renewable district heating and local heat planning”

The SmartReFlex project aims to increase the development and deployment of smart and flexible district heating and cooling (DHC) systems, based on renewable energy sources (RES), in European cities. To achieve this objective, a mixed project consortium was created, including regional authorities, DHC utilities and consultancy partners, which specific high-level skills on RES DHC and on energy planning at local level.

 

The free webinar “Renewable district heating and local heat planning” organized in cooperation with the International Solar Energy Society (ISES) will report on heat planning, what is a crucial activity to ensure that renewable energy sources available in an area are adequately exploited. The webinar will explore this topic with a special focus on district heating solutions by reporting the long-term experience of a Danish Region in the involvement of its Municipalities in heat planning as well as by showing two examples of practical use of heat mapping in cities in Italy and in the UK.
