MOU-Signing-CeremonyOn 27 August 2015, Euroheat & Power, represented by Managing Director Paul Voss, signed the Memorandum of Understanding for enhancing international collaboration in the field of District Heating and Cooling, together with representatives from the International District Energy Association (IDEA), the Korea District Heating & Cooling Association, the China District Heating Association and the Mongolian Ministry of Energy. The initiative is a formal recognition of the need for and commitment to reinforced cooperation and information exchange at global level.

The signing ceremony took place in Seoul, Korea, during the 2015 International Seminar on District Heating and Cooling (DHC) and Combined Heat and Power (CHP). The signatories engage to promote the deployment of District Heating and Cooling systems across the globe, as key solutions to increase energy efficiency and environmental sustainability of our energy systems. Reflecting on this new commitment, Paul Voss noted that “cooperation of this type enriches all the participants and enhances our ability to meet our shared goals. Together, we are far more than the sum of our parts.”.

Accelerating the uptake of energy efficiency and renewable energy in the energy mix is the single biggest contribution to current global climate challenges. The international District Heating and Cooling community has with this occasion shown its strong commitment ahead of the United Nations Climate Change Conference in December this year.

For Euroheat & Power, the signature of this Memorandum of Understanding reinforces its global action on District Heating and Cooling. Currently, Euroheat & Power joins the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and other partners in the “District Energy in Cities” initiative and organises with the support of the International Energy Agency (IEA), UNEP and IDEA the “Global District Energy Climate Awards”.
