Norwegian utility Eidsiva launches district heating procurement based on Euroheat & Power eco-efficient substations certification

Euroheat & Power is very pleased to announce that the Norwegian utility Eidsiva Bioenergi AS recently launched a procurement procedure for district heating substations which favour products to be certified according to the EHP004 Certification Programme.

Eidsiva is a Norwegian power utility based in Ā the Oppland and Hedmark counties of Norway. Ā Eidsiva produces, distributes and sells electricity and heat in both counties.

ā€œWe see certification of substations as an important tool for improving quality of substations and providing a platform for innovation in the industry. The substation is our interface with the customer, and arguably the most important part of a district heating system for improving customer experience.ā€ Tore Dugstad, Head of Development

The request for tender has been announced trough the Sellihca/Achilles prequalification system.

The Euroheat & Power certification programme for eco-efficient substations for district heating is based on theĀ CEN Workshop Agreement 16975:2016 ā€œEco-efficient Substations for District Heatingā€Ā (CWA) adopted by the industry representatives in 2015. Further information about the programme, its official guidelines, application form and the list of approved certification bodies can be found on dedicated section on our website.

For many years, Euroheat & Power has successfully managedĀ certification programmesĀ for different district heating components. Our certification enables an increased product quality level, sound competition and more reliable and easier procurement. Furthermore, the guidelines increase cost efficiency by avoiding multiple testing and inspections during production.

The certification programmes put in place a formal procedure allowing manufacturers to obtain an internationally recognised quality mark from an independent third party confirming that their product conforms to the requirements stipulated in the standards.

Euroheat & Power encourages all producers to apply the certification procedures according to the available guidelines, and district heating companies are recommended to buy and use only certified products.
