On 19-20 September, EU energy policy-makers and stakeholders came together in the Tallinn Creative Hub (Kultuurikatel) to thoroughly discuss the topic of the new structure of the electricity market.

As part of these events, the Tallinn e-energy declaration was signed with the aim of further digitising the energy market. Euroheat & Power is among the signatories of the declaration, together with Estonian Minister Kadri Simson, Commissioner Arias CaƱete and a large number of member states and EU industry associations.

The signatories aim to enhance cooperation between the public sector and companies to make sure consumers can find the best prices and service providers via smart digital solutions.

ā€œBuilding the secure energy sector of the future requires broad cooperation among all stakeholders,ā€ said Kadri Simson, Minister for Economic Affairs and Infrastructure, adding that the greatest ideas occur when the two sectors meet, and that the follow-up to the signing ceremony is all about exploring the ā€˜no manā€™s landā€™ between digital and energy.

ā€œEventually the solutions created for consumers have to be smart and simple enough to create interest in their consumption habits, and energy efficiency for the consumer themselves,ā€ said Ando Leppiman, Deputy Secretary General for Energy.

The full text of the declaration is available on the Estonian Presidency websiteĀ and can also be downloaded here.
