Plan a phased roll-out, include local heat sources and optimize substation locations

Presenting the latest release of Comsof Heat, our member’s district heating planning and design software. In this latest version they integrated phased roll-out functionalities, improved optimized substation locations, and added the possibility to include local heat sources. In addition, they put in pipe system parameters from more manufacturers.

Plan a phased roll-out

District heating network deployment is a long-term project. It can take years before the network reaches its total size. As it is vital to consider the whole network roll-out plan, Comsof Heat now provides the possibility to phase network deployment over multiple years. In addition, you will be able to visualize these phases on your GIS platform, and get an overview of the corresponding investment costs, network size and connected buildings of all roll-out phases.

Optimize the substation location

The Comsof Heat software proposes an optimized location for the distribution substation in each cluster. But as it is important to keep control over your project, we have made it possible for you to be able to preindicate any location you see fit for a substation to be installed. Comsof Heat will select one of these options. This gives you more control and reduces manual fine-tuning, saving time and costs.

Integrate multiple sources

It is now possible to integrate multiple sources Into your district heating network. Adding local energy sources in addition to the distribution substations provides more energy for the network. It also means less strain on the main source so that transport pipe sizes can be reduced. This results in a less costly network deployment.

Plan networks with REHAU, Weijers-Waalwijk and Isoplus pipe systems

We have extended the software’s pipe systems catalog with new manufacturer parameters. In addition to the pipe manufacturers Logstor, Terrendis and Thermaflex you can now also plan networks with the pipe systems of REHAU, Weijers-Waalwijk and Isoplus. Is your supplier not in this list yet? Let us know and we will make sure to include them for our next release!
