EDF Energy and EDF Group owned Dalkia have today announced the launch of EDF Energy Services, a new joint venture to develop energy services in the UK. The new business will help customers manage their energy use in a sustainable way, using the expertise and innovative approach of both partners.

  • New business offers energy services in UK
  • Combined expertise will help customers make the most of their energy resources
  • Provides sustainable energy solutions for local authorities, public and private sector buildings, and industry

EDF Energy is the UK’s largest low carbon electricity producer and supplies millions of residential and business accounts in Britain.

EDF Energy Services already manages several UK contracts. The Barkantine district heating network in east London has been supplying low cost, energy efficient heating, hot water and electricity to more than 1,000 local homes and businesses reliably since 2000.

The new joint venture will also deliver the design, construction and operation of a new energy centre and associated heating and cooling network, which will serve the Chase Farm Hospital Trust in north London for the next 15 years. It will allow the Trust to save more than 1,100 tonnes of CO2 each year.

EDF Energy Services will be looking to recruit new talent to the business.

“The demand for innovative energy services in the UK is growing quickly and there is a great opportunity for EDF Energy Services to apply its know-how and expertise to help businesses save energy and reduce carbon emissions in the long term. EDF Energy’s experience of the UK market and EDF Group owned Dalkia’s French expertise in energy services is a powerful combination and a winning proposition for customers looking for a trusted partner.” Gautier Jacob, CEO at EDF Energy Services
